Speciality Shops in Liverpool

Although most people flock to Liverpool for its mainstream, high street branded stores the city also offers a special service to those who have a desire for something different in a niche market.

The Beatles Shop

Since 1984 the Beatles Shop has been supplying Beatle lovers across the world with lots of items related to The Beatles. Many people travel far and wide to come to the Beatles Shop so they can feel the atmosphere of the store and pick up a much wanted memorabilia to add to their Beatles collection.

Located on the famous Matthew Street the Beatles Shop is just a stones throw from the Cavern Club where the Beatles played and is just a short walk from the major railway stations and bus stations.

Bluecoat Display Centre

The Bluecoat Display Centre is a huge exhibition centre and a shop. The centre showcases the arts and crafts made from a huge array of materials by over 350 artists.

What makes Bluecoat Display Centre a speciality shop is that it not only showcases artists work in an exhibition style, it is also a shop where you can buy nearly everything on display.

The Bluecoat Display Centre is found on College Lane, just off Paradise Street in the heart of the city.

By public transport the centre is a short walk from both Central Station and the Paradise Bus Station.

William Forbes

William Forbes showroom is a fascinating place to visit with hundreds of handcrafted time pieces from large Grandfather clocks to small pocket watches. Having been making time pieces for many years William Forbes has a reputation for luxurious and wonderfully crafted clocks of every style.

William Forbes is found outside the city centre on the Sefton Lane industrial estate in Maghull, just off the A59 north of the city.

Other Speciality Shops

As well as individual shops Liverpool also offers whole streets full of speciality shops, these are Lord Street, Bold Street, Whitechapel and Paradise Street.

These roads have many shops from The Emporium, a shop catering for all things Celtic to shops catering for the arts and crafts, contemporary jewellery, anything French, high class items, historical items, boutique style clothing stores with one off designer clothing items and much more.

If you have something specific and different in mind then a visit to one of Liverpool’s speciality stores is a must and the best place to start is visiting the Lord Street area of the city.

Here you can cross from Lord Street to Bold Street and the other areas with speciality shops sampling the wonderful architecture of the 18th century buildings they are housed in.
