Following the diagnosis of E.coli in four people two patients have been admitted to hospital with serious medical difficulties.
32 year old Karen Morrisroe-Clutton only gave birth 11 weeks ago and has contracted a highly virulent strain of the E.coli 0157 bacterial infection. She is currently being cared for in theWrexham Maelor Hospital and has been placed in a medically-induced coma to aid her treatment.
A three year old girl has been taken to Alder Hey children’s hospital where she is suffering from kidney failure.
The other two people who have had their diagnosis confirmed have not been hospitalised.
