Liverpool Food and Drink Festival and Hope Street FEAST – 13th to 20th September 2009

liverpool-food-and-drink-festivalLiverpool’s Food and Drink Festival celebrates its second year and launches this Sunday.

You add your vote for your favourite Liverpool restaurant or bar here at the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival website.

Following on from last year’s huge success, this year’s Liverpool Food and Drink Festival sees bars and restaurants in the city working together to support the festival and bringing you a whole host of exciting offers and opportunities to try something new throughout the week.

Sunday 13th September sees the launch of the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival at Sefton Park. This will be an astonishing and brilliant event and it is free to attend!. There will stalls representing over 60 of some of Liverpool’s best restaurants. You will get the chance to sample some delicious tasters and be able to buy some treats to enjoy when you get home – if you are still hungry!

There will be cooking demonstrations, live music and plenty to keep the children entertained whilst you titillate your taste buds.

Restaurants involved include Spire, Il Forno, The London Carriage Works, Pan Am, Delifonesca to name just a few.

So if you ever fancied an evening out at one of these eateries but couldn’t quite stretch your pocket why not book a table – and it isn’t often we get to dine out in style on a Monday evening!

Wednesday 16th September follows another recession proof, budget-minded delight with half-price offers available.

My favourite promotion for this night has to be the one at 60 Hope Street, which offers a whole lobster and bottle of fizz to share for £20 per person.

You can see the full list of offers here.

Thursday 17th September celebrates Locally Sourced Produce and Organic Foods. Many of Liverpool’s restaurants share in the pride of serving beautiful dishes made using the best the local area has to offer in ingredients.

Friday 18th September is the perfect day for Fish Day. Forget the chippy this Friday and explore some of the glorious fish dishes on the menus of Liverpool’s restaurants.

My choice from the offers would be to dine at What’s Cooking at the Albert Dock and feast upon their Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas featuring Cains local ale.

Saturday 19th September is a ‘Let’s Do Lunch’ Day with some superb lunchtime offers available at some of your favourite Liverpool eateries.

My choice would be the ‘Posh Pie Gourmet Lunch’ at The Monro on Duke Street – two courses for £12. Although I don’t see myself running round Liverpool One to grab any more bargains for the rest of that day!
