This year’s Liverpool Music Week 2009 takes place, in theory, between 5th to 16th November; although with so many gigs happening every day throughout the city of Liverpool you needn’t worry to much about where Liverpool Music Weeks begins and ends as there is always someone performing to suit all tastes!
To be more honest, gigs start from the 29th October – with The Specials concert at Liverpool Olympia and end around about the 28th November – with The Gallows at the Academy 2.
Liverpool already takes the top spot in Europe for hosting the biggest free music festival event – Mathew Street Festival – and Liverpool Music Week is being hailed as the ‘UK’s largest indoor winter music festival’.
With over 26 venues involved playing host to over 80 live music events this is a definite must. There is an easy combination of ‘paid for’ gigs and freebies where the musicians simply want you to enjoy their art.
But before you go we prepared a little treat for you to get you in the mood – a selection of vids of some of the bands (my personal favourite, and always will be, has to be The Specials)
