The Shankly Show by Andrew Sherlock, will be the first theatre play in the magnificent state-of-the-art Auditorium at BT Convention Centre at the Echo Arena for two special performances only on Thursday 17th & Friday 18th December @ 8pm.
The event will commemorate the 50th Anniversary – to the week – when Bill Shankly became manager of Liverpool Football Club in December 1959. One of the biggest footballing week’s of the year celebrates one of its biggest legends.

Bill Shankly One actor, 45 minutes each way, first half in black and white (with half time oranges), the second half in colour and set in the infamous boot room at Anfield.
Intimate theatrical performance interacts with big screen action featuring original footage, photos and graphics displayed on huge video screens.
The Shankly Show is a piece of documentary-theatre about the Liverpool legend which generates a big crowd feel and also an intimate one-to-one performance experience.
The critically acclaimed Scottish actor Alexander ‘Sandy’ West will return with his extraordinary interpretation of Bill Shankly bringing the man himself back to the city and to the people he loved.

In 1959, Mr William Shankly walked into Liverpool Football Club and was greeted by a rundown ground, where the wind rattled through the corrugated roof of all parts of the stadium. By the time he resigned in 1974 he had brought three Division 1 titles, one Division 2 title, two FA Cups and a UEFA cup to Anfield and had set the foundations for the decades of greatness to come.
This is a show written large, unashamedly embracing the myth, emotion and epic stature of the man as well as displaying his wit, hard pitman’s background, politics and famous footballing genius. The Shankly Show is a magnificent fusion of theatre and sport that ticket holders embrace to create an electrifying match day atmosphere.
