We’re back.
Pigeonhole Disco returns in 2010 with a new decade and a new veneer. The first two parties we’re showcasing two of the brightest DJs within Liverpool’s vibrant scene to devastating effect. First up is Gareth Cheshire, the city’s go-to-guy for chugging deep disco and wigged out acid house. Chesh has been at the forefront of Liverpool’s club scene for the bulk of the noughties, sound tracking the jacking house sound with his Bubblegum project in 2004 and now the Downstairs Mix Up podcast, heavy rotation for anyone with a serious clubbing interest in Liverpool (and beyond!).
And then it’s the turn of local legend Steve Parry on our bank holiday bonanza on Thursday April 1st. Most of you will know Steve as the man behind the brilliant Red Zone radio show on Juice FM, but his pedigree runs much deeper than that. Having been a fixture on the Liverpool club scene since the nascent acid house days, Steve was the progressive house buyer for legendary record shop 3Beat for fifteen years, looking after the vinyl needs of DJs as esteemed as Sasha, Danny Howells, Nick warren, Dave Seaman, Pete Tong, Groove Armada and Graeme Park.
This and his brilliant selection ability led to gigs across the rave hemisphere, frequently at Cream during its heady peak and further afield in Russia, Taiwan, Mexico and Costa Rica. And how can we forget his promotions? There was Alderaan, the timeless party he ran for six years in the Lemon Lounge which had the likes of Lee Burridge, Anthony Pappa and James Zabeila causing mayhem, before this became Aztec, where Sander Kleinenberg, Hernan Cattaneo and Terry Francis were among the guests. His Lemon Lounge sets are always special, here we will be giving him full reign to go wherever he wants musically, spanning the full spectrum of his musical influences
