Liverpool Sound City 2010Sadly – although we were invited – we were, in the end, unable to attend Liverpool Sound City this year. So to bring back the memories for those of you that did attend and to offer some compensation to people like ourselves and others who couldn’t, Directory of Liverpool is collecting together some of the best reviews and videos over the course of this week.

There are some musicians and artists whose work you admire, informed as it is by existential angst, a sense of righteous injustice, and a wish to set the world to rights. However you wouldn’t necessarily want to go out for a pint with them, if you know what I mean!  Paloma Faith on the other hand would surely be the life and soul of any party, with her  impish sense of humour, her eye for the dramatic gesture and a sense of style that makes haute couture look somewhat twee and ‘street’

Liverpool Sound City: Day One highlights

If it continues to corner at this speed I’m not sure we’ll survive intact as pulses across Liverpool were raised to outrageous levels.
To give you a flavour of what went down in these ears, we were treated to an opening salvo from Liverpool’s own Dire Wolfe who mixed outrageous time signatures and an aggression which made the foundations of the Masque tremble ..
